The Marauder is one of the four career options or classes under the Chaos Army, which is further sub-categorized. Marauders are said to be inhabitants of Norsca, a frozen part of the WAR world where the Norse tribes reside. Marauders are naturally strong and fierce, built for war.
The Marauders are brutal and they are closely related to the Chaos Champions and so they brandish a banner to pay homage to the said champions, all in the hopes of proving their worth as warriors. The Marauders have an innate sense of violence, so much so that Tzeentch favors them greatly.
Likewise, it is a melee DPS class. Not only is it a blast to play, but it is capable in Realm vs. Realm and Player vs. Environment You'll find the mutations add not only a distinct splash of flavor, but also an aspect of game-play that can become a valuable asset when mastered. If you are looking for a hand on damage focused Destruction class, the Marauder is a perfect option.
As a Marauder, it has its both strengths and weaknesses. The strengths include that it hands on DPS makes for great close contact battle, Mutations allow for amazing damage and variety of play style. What's more Fast and harsh damage plows through enemies at a high pace.
The weaknesses involve that it medium armor means weaker defenses, high damage makes this class a primary target on the battlefield and Mutations take some knowledge of class to be properly effective.
Whether you go at it solo or hang with a group, the Marauder does well in the Player vs. Player. Getting to know your mutations is the very first order of business regardless of how you play. As a player, these buffs are the key in your success and having the right mutation for the right circumstance can by invaluable.
Being a powerful melee DPS, it has the great benefit and still being able to take a hit, just don't be the target for long because it won't last.
Prepare for a fight because it will always be right in the fray of battle! Being a solid DPS class, the Marauder has the unfortunate trouble of being a focus of Order attacks. They want you gone and they want you gone now. The benefit of this class though is the various mutation allow for somewhat of a change up in technique that will keep the opposition on their toes.
Use your tank as your distraction and then go in with the mind of playing aggressively and unpredictably. Your best line of defense will always be to kill them before they even know you were coming.
Marauders are all about running up to people and hacking at them until they stop moving. A Marauder should always have a mutation on. In this case we'll focus on using the Gift of Brutality.
Use Charge to gain a burst of speed and quickly close the distance with any ranged attacker trying to attack you from afar. Alternatively, you can use Terrible Embrace to drag a victim to you and your group. Start out by using Corruption to lower your opponent's toughness and Pulverize to reduce their defenses. Next try stacking on multiple Rends to get a steady stream of damage. Convulsive slashing deals a lot of damage over three seconds, after which it's good to use Flail until Corruption and Rend need reapplication. For an extra boost of damage use Ferocious Assault, but try to finish the combat before the negative effect kicks in. If your prey tries to run away, use Debilitate to slow them down.
