Speaking of a Mage, they are a bit sneaky with their magic spells. Don't let those magic spells get you wrong, they can do a great amount of damage. As a matter of fact, leveling up a Mage can be a bit on the hard side. Especially in those low levels as you will more than likely be resting and drinking water to mana up.

Ice mages are closely following their fire cousins in terms of popularity. The rationale behind this is because ice Mages are the best AOE class and no other class comes close. Try to see an ice Mage doing his thing and you'll be pleasantly shocked. They frost nova five to ten enemies of similar level as they are, and cast AOE spells until all of the enemies fall to their death. It's a thing of absolute wonder, and it's fantastic for grinding.
Arcane Mages are last in popularity. The specialization doesn't really capture the fancy of a lot of people. The arcane tree may be composed of better support spells and better CCs, but Mages are meant to deal damage, and the arcane tree does not help in improving a mage's damage output.
