New Death Knight Arena Specs

Author:mmorpgvip Date:2/25/2009 Source:http://www.mmorpgvip.com
Too many people may ask us that what we are going to make mention of here. But we are will to talk about Death Knight Player versus Player specs after the new change of the patch 3.0.8.
First thing first, Blood Spec basically makes the Death Knight a warrior on steroids with a 1 second GCD. The only difference is that you trade off magical damage potential, arguably better peel, and ranged magic damage/DoT for Mortal Strike effectively. However, when many Death Knights comp pair up the Death Knight with a healing reduction, is having Mortal Strike really all that needed after all?
In part, this spec can wreck a caster or even other Death Knights, especially in mirrors. The damage output of heart strike not just on the main target, but now an additional secondary target, is amazing. This spec can also further be tweaked to incorporate Dancing Rune Weapon, the 51-point Blood talent, which by itself casts four heart strikes per Heart Strike preformed by the player Death Knight.
For some reason, Unholy is dead we don't understand why this is at all. Bone Shield is still great mitigation, especially glyph. AMZ is a very strong talent even despite its nerf to duration and gargoyle can still put out a lot of pressure if left unchecked and often times, teams simply don't have the time to deal with it in a match. Everything else in the tree either remained the same or got buffed like Night of the Dead, Ghouls and even Necrosis.
This spec is probably the most versatile as it covers all of the weaknesses by having the vast array of cool downs to deal with almost any situation. We won't really go into this anymore because most arenas Death Knight's should be familiar with this spec. We just wanted to reiterate that this spec really did not lose any steam at all; in fact, it probably got as much in return as it got nerfed with the new glyph of the ghoul and night of the dead changes.
Frost, however, is the real dark horse of the 3.0.8 patch. The new Killing Machine is strong with 2-handers now, Howling Blast has a slightly shorter cool down, and many frost talents are often highly underrated in general. Although barely more than an improved Mark of the Wild, Frost Aura is not dispel-able and works in conjunction with Acclimation very nicely, especially so against other DK's, Rogues, Warlocks and Mages. It stacks very fast and having 230 to their resist type is incredibly strong and acts like a huge padding of resilience usually.
Due to its ability to dump three consecutive frost strikes on a target that all hit and especially crit much higher than Death Coil, this spec is also powerful and can be increased to four consecutive strikes if glyphed with 3/3 runic power mastery. Chilblains is very underrated and can potentially offer a snare for the entire enemy team when the DK is actively spreading diseases with Pestilence and those pestilence blood runes will then turn into death runes because of Blood of the North, offering a huge amount of control and opening basically anyone on the other team to be a potential swap target from being snared and vulnerable to howling blast burst.
In effect, this spec has all of the bread and butter talents such as bladed armor, imp rune tap, dark conviction as well, making it very well rounded. Some Death Knights even prefer to drop Killing Machine in favor of Toughness for not only better survivability especially now after Frost Presence got buffed but also because it offers more attack power as a direct result of bladed armor.
